vicuna_savioTeachers and staff who have taken on leadership roles within the Salesian schools in Australia gathered for an immersion experience in Melbourne. It is an annual event organized by APSPA [Australia Pacific Salesian Principals Association]. Staff representatives from all Salesian schools in Australia: Bairnsdale, Chadstone, Engadine, Ferntree Gully, Gawler, Glenorchy, Port Pirie and Sunbury attended the Experience.

The day began with a talk on Salesian Education and a tour around the Salesian mother house at Rupertswood in Sunbury. The participants then travelled across to Don Bosco Youth Centre and Hostel in Brunswick for a tour and an experience of another Salesian educational setting.

A communal Mass was celebrated at their third stop, the Province Centre at Ascot Vale at 5:30 pm. It was led by Fr. Frank Moloney SDB. In his homily, Fr. Moloney thanked the participants for taking on the spirit of Don Bosco in the education the young. He also encouraged them to carry on this task as brave followers of Jesus in the spirit of Don Bosco.

The Immersion Experience day was concluded by a festive meal hosted by the community at the Province Centre.
