ASYC Retreat

The Australian Salesian Youth Community [ASYC] spent a weekend together at Salesian Retreat Centre in Lysterfield, Victoria for a retreat from 27-29 October.

The ASYC sets aside three weekends a year to focus on their Mission, Community and Formation respectively. This weekend was the last one for the year focusing on the Formation aspect of their identity.

The theme over the weekend was centered on 2018 Salesian Strenna, ‘Sir, give me that water’ from the gospel story of Jesus and the Samaritan Woman at the well.

It was a very reflective time for all young people, and the contents presented were very enriching. The Delegate for Formation, Fr Phil Gleeson SDB, was a guest of honour presenting a talk on Faith and Pastoral Action to the participants.

The ASYC regularly meet at Don Bosco Formation House in Clifton Hill in the evening on the first Sunday of each month. The members regularly involve with youth activities in the province like OzBosco, school retreats and youth camps.
