The great feast of St John Bosco was celebrated at St Margaret Mary’s parish in North Brunswick on Saturday 31st January. This celebration was led by the provincial, Fr Greg Chambers SDB, and attended by many Salesian priests, Brothers and Sisters, friends and parishioners, and many young people.
The Vietnamese “Don Bosco Choir” complimented the occasion with their music, singing and a liturgical dance during Mass.
It was a very special moment for Br Jeff Miller who made his First Profession as a Salesian in this Eucharist. Br Jeff, who is also a member of the Salesian Youth Mentors, comes from Coburg’s St Fedelis parish. He has been a youth leader at Don Bosco camp in Dromana for many years. He has just returned from a twelve-month spiritual training, Novitiate, in Fiji.
Following the Eucharist, refreshments were served in the parish hall. The Miller family provided a special cake for their son’s first profession as a Salesian, and also to celebrate the 200 years of the birth of St John Bosco.
Br Jeff Miller will spend the next couple of years at Don Bosco House in Clifton Hill, near Melbourne, to pursue theological studies.
