Burmese young Salesians professed in Melbourne

Originally from Burma, Br Dominic Aung Ko Myint and Br Michael En Lam Pau, committed themselves forever to God before the Australian Salesian Provincial, Fr Greg Chambers SDB in front of many parishioners, friends, family members, Salesians and a large number of different tribes from Burma.

This special and culturally enriched perpetual profession was celebrated on Sunday 13th August at St John the Baptist church in Clifton Hill at 10:30 AM Eucharist.

During the homily, Fr Greg encouraged Br Dominic and Br Michael to be like Jesus the good shepherd who laid down his life for his friends, and not to be afraid in their ministry as Salesians.

The Mass was enriched with readings and singing in different languages. The Offertory Procession was beautifully processed with a traditional Kachin Ma Naw dance participated by many tribes from Burma.

Both Br Dominic and Br Michael, gave a thank-you speech after the Communion thanking God, Salesians, family and friends.

Following the Eucharist, a variety of food was served in the school hall where all guests were entertained with many dances and singing.

Br Dominic and Br Michael came to Australia about a year ago to pursue theological studies at Catholic Theological College in East Melbourne.

Congratulations to Br Dominic and Br Michael!
