On Sunday, 23 December, the 2011 group of Cagliero missionaries was commissioned. After a year during which applicants were sought, sifted, interviewed and prepared, missionary locations were arranged and allocated to the four missionaries.
A full-scale live-in formation week took place at Lysterfield during the week prior to the commissioning. Accompanied by about 30 family and friends, Michael Billington, Nicholas Carland, Jeremy Quinn and Felicity Walter received their missionary crosses and made their commitment to Don Bosco and the Salesian mission, in the presence of the Provincial and a number of Salesians. Michael will be located at Salelologa (Samoa), Nicholas at Phnom Penh (Cambodia), Jeremy at Salelologa (Samoa) and Felicity at Henderson (Solomon Islands).
Each of these young people will bring themselves, their talents and their generosity to our Province and our Region. Lauren Hichaaba and her support team are to be congratulated on this further fine group of young people, and they ask for your support for the continued success of the Cagliero Project. I would like to thank Sr. Margaret Bentley FMA, for her intense and qualified support for the Cagliero Project.
