The Cagliero volunteers have all been in their placements now for a couple of weeks and it seems that they have all started to settle into their new homes. This year we have 5 new volunteers, each with their own unique skills to bring to their communities.
Natalie has gone to the City of Joy in Mazabuka, Zambia to continue the good work commenced by volunteers Calvin, Rena, Cody and Emma over the past few years. Natalie will be working with the girls who live at the City of Joy alongside the Salesian sisters. She will be there for 6 months.
Four of our volunteers have gone to Cambodia. Travis, Christine and Allie have gone to work in Don Bosco Technical School in Phnom Penh and Victoria has commenced her volunteer work with Don Bosco Children’s Fund, also located in Phnom Penh. Each of the volunteers at the school will be involved in a variety of activities including teaching, youth ministry, hands on activities and oratory work.
All of our volunteers undertook our formation program at Lysterfield and were commissioned by Fr. Greg Chambers sdb at its conclusion. As per usual the week was jam packed with information and all the participants were weary but well equipped by the end of the week for the journey ahead. We wish our 2015 volunteers the best of luck with their experience!
