Cagliero Volunteers return from Samoa

Cagliero Volunteers in Samoa 2010

The Cagliero Project has recently returned with twelve young people from the second Samoa Immersion Experience. The participants came from all over Australia to join under the banner of young Aussie Salesians.  Prior to departure they participated in a formation weekend that was held at Don Bosco Camp in Dromana.

During their time in Samoa they visited all the Salesian parishes and schools. The group was constantly overwhelmed with the generous and hospitable spirit of all the people they encountered.

The highlight of the journey was a three day leadership camp held in Leauva’a, Samoa.  The group worked in collaboration with the youth leaders in the parish to put together a comprehensive leadership program for the youth in the Leauva’a community.  The camp consisted of input regarding the Salesian philosophies, discussion, music and drama activities and of course a whole lot of fun.

The group is now dispersed back around Australia and are dreaming of the day they will be able to return to beautiful Samoa!
