The solemn Eucharist of St. John Bosco was celebrated at St. Margaret Mary’s parish in North Brunswick on Sunday 31st January. The celebration was led by the Provincial Fr Greg Chambers, Bishop Hilton Deakin and concelebrated by a number of Salesian priests. Many Salesian Brothers and Sisters, Co-operators also participated in the Eucharist.
Two young men offered themselves to God during this Eucharist to make it more extraordinary. Br. Kitichai Saisawang from Thailand Province professed his Perpetual Vows while Br. Tristan O’Brien from Melbourne proclaimed his First Profession as a Salesian.
During the homily, Fr. Provincial encouraged the professing Brothers to continue the work of Christ, to bring joy to the world, especially the poor and abandoned youth.
After the Communion, both Br. Kitichai, also known as Br. Jack, and Br. Tristan thanked God who called them, the congregation, their families and those who supported them along the way.
Following the Eucharist, a festive supper was served in the parish hall where all members of the Salesian family and the parishioners enjoyed each other’s company.
