The Salesian college captains across Australian eastern states gathered for an annual captains conference at Nagle College in Bairnsdale in Victoria.
The conference began on Monday 27th November with a welcome and introduction by the host college. In this conference, school captains had opportunities to present their own colleges to the fellow captains and learn from each other. They were also given a guided tour around the college as well as around Bairnsdale.
Nagle College has been running under the charism of St John Bosco over the last twenty five years. Sadly, the year 2017 is the first year without any physical presence of Salesians in the college community. Salesians withdrew from Nagle at the end of 2016 due to old age and lack of personnel to replace the then existing Salesians. Fr Joe Pulis and Br Noel Hannabery were the last two Salesians to serve at the College. Fr Joe Pulis passed away in July this year.
The Captains’ conference concluded successfully on Wednesday 29th November.
