Recently the Salesian Family with representatives from all around the world, including Martin Tanti, gathered at the Salesian Pontifical University (UPS) in Rome for an International Conference with the title ‘Youth and Life Choices: Educational Perspectives.’
In their presentations some experts in various fields provided insights and perspectives regarding the things that influence the young at the present time, both positive and negative, and impact their decision making regarding their life choices. Others reflected on the ways in which the young should be accompanied and supported in this important facet of their lives by the Salesian educators – the use of the Preventive System, being present, offering spiritual accompaniment, providing a listening ear, ensuring a safe environment, patience, positive relationships – were but some.
Assisting the young to deepen their relationship with God, discern their vocation in life, and contribute to the building of God’s kingdom is an important part of our Salesian ministry.
