Before returning to his native country, the Philippines, the Coordinator of the Salesian Formation Program in the East Asia-Oceania Region, Br Raymond Callo, visited the Mother House of the Australia-Pacific Province in Sunbury, the beginning and the final destination of many Salesians in Australia.
Br Raymond came to Australia at the invitation of the Provincial and the Formation Delegate from Melbourne to run a Quinquennium program for Salesians in the first five years of Perpetual Profession or Priestly Ordination.
Br Raymond visited Sunbury later in the afternoon on Friday 1st September with Br Michael Harris SDB. The Rector of the College and the Community welcomed them and took them on a tour around the college ground including the mansion and the Salesian cemetery.
In the evening, Br Raymond joined the community for evening prayer, and gave a short talk on his ministry and the importance of ‘Spiritual Accompaniment’ for Salesians in formation, formation of the Rectors, and on-going formation.
The discussion of spiritual accompaniment continued during dinner, after the Eucharist. Br Raymond was able to talk to and listen to all Confreres in the community.
Br Raymond left for the Philippines in the morning on 2nd September. The Australia-Pacific Province is truly grateful for his generosity, availability and guidance in the formation of young Salesians in the province.
