Fedrigotti Science Wing blessed and opened


At 10:00 a.m. on Friday 2nd May quite a gathering of special guests, staff members, students and parents gathered in the Chapel for the ceremony of Blessing as the wintery weather precluded and out-door assembly at the main entrance of the Fr. B.M Fedrigotti Science wing.

The Salesian Provincial Fr Greg Chambers recently returned from the General Chapter in Rome (a conference of Salesian Leaders from around the world) lead the Blessing Ceremony and spoke of the significance of the Science Wing being dedicated to the memory of Fr Fedrigotti the first Provincial Leader of the Salesians in Australia.

Among the special guests was Ms Anna Bourke the Federal Member for Chisholm, Mr Graham Watt  MP, State Member for Burwood,  Ms Ann Baker State Member for Oakleigh, Ms Debra Punton, Past Pupil and Member of the College Hall of Fame, representing the Director of Catholic Education, members of the Architect Company and the Building Company, members of the College Board, and Principals from neighbouring Catholic Colleges and Primary Schools.

Following the Blessing and inspection of the facilities, guests all gathered in the refurbished Hall Foyer for refreshments.   The College Captains along with leadership Ambassadors and quite a number of junior students assisted in hosting the guests.

Though the weather was quite wintery the Blessing and celebration of the Science facilities suitable marked the occasion highlighted the aspiration to achieve excellence.
