The Mother General of the Salesian Sisters will be visiting the province of the South Pacific Region from 26th February to 3rd March 2016. Mother Yvonne will spend most of her time in Samoa and in the Solomon Islands during her visit. Yet, she will spend a day in Sydney on her way to Samoa, and another day in Sydney on her way back home.
Sr. Sovita Paulo FMA from Samoa will celebrate her Perpetual Profession to Sr Yvonne on Friday 26th February at the Sisters’ Divine Mercy new school in Malololelei. The Eucharist will be presided over by the Archbishop of Samoa.
Mother General is also planned to have a meeting with the archbishop on 25th February.
At this stage, Mother Yvonne will mainly be visiting the Salesian Sisters’ convents and their works during the Samoan visit.
On 28th February, she will continue her journey to the Solomon Islands to meet her Sisters and to see their works. She will also be meeting with the local bishops, and the Salesians in the Islands.
The provincial leader of the FMA, Sr Edna-Mary, stated that Mother Yvonne will be in Melbourne in May 2018 when the Sisters have their Chapter Meeting.
