Fr. Peter Tsang RIP

Fr. Peter Tsang SDB

Fr. Peter Tsang SDBThe provincial of the Australia-Pacific Province, Fr. Frank Moloney, shared the following sad news about the death of Fr. Peter Tsang SDB, a fine Salesian and a dedicated chaplain to the chinese community in Melbourne.

Dear everyone,

It is with sadness that I must announce the passing of Fr. Peter Tsang to the Lord in the early hours of this morning. This is a very sad and unexpected turn of events, just as Peter was preparing to slow down and enjoy life with us all from the Chadstone community. I know that he will be remembered in all our communities, and in everyone’s personal prayer.

Because of Peter’s profound connection with the Chinese Community of Melbourne, arrangements are still not finalised. The Chinese Catholic Community must play an important part in whatever happens over the next days. Fr John Papworth is working with them so that they can honour their much loved pastor, as well as allowing us the opportunity to say our farewells to a fine Salesian.

In the Lord,

Fr. Frank Moloney SDB

There will be a Eucharistic celebration for the life of Fr. Peter with Chinese Catholic Community at Wattle Park parish on Tuesday 14th December at 7:30pm.

The requiem Mass and burial will take place at Ruperstwood in Sunbury on Wednesday 15th December at 11:00am. [Updated on Sunday 12th December]

Please remember Fr. Peter in your prayer.

May he rest in peace, Amen!
