Golden Jubilee Celebration of Sr Delma Lamb FMA

It certainly is a special milestone not to bypass for a religious Sister who has given up her entire life for the service of the young for fifty years.

Surrounded by many family members and friends, Sr. Delma Lamb FMA celebrated her Golden Jubilee of Salesian Religious Profession on Sunday 31st July at St. Jude Catholic Church in Scoresby. The provincial of the Sisters, Sr Edna Mary MacDonald and many Salesian Sisters including Delma’s younger sister, Sr Rochelle Lamb FMA, came together to thank God the occasion.

The Provincial of the Salesians of Don Bosco, Fr Greg Chambers SDB, led the joy-filled Eucharist. He was concelebrated by three prominent Rectors from Melbourne, the retiring Italian Chaplain, and Sr. Delma’s co-chaplain from Melbourne University, Fr Thinh Nguyen.

Following the homily, Sr. Delma and all Salesian Sisters present at the Eucharist renewed their vows. After the Communion, Sr Delma thanked all families and friends, particularly her Salesian Sisters, for all the support and love she has received.

DL501A special lunch prepared by her brother Leylan and wife Barbara, was served in the parish hall following the Eucharist. Family members spoke about Sr Delma and congratulated her on her golden jubilee during the meal.

The Lamb family is looking forward to celebrating another golden jubilee of another Lamb in a few years’ time.
