New Provincial for Australia & Pacific

New Provincial

New ProvincialThe rector major of the Salesian Society, Fr. Pascual Chavez SDB, today announced that Fr. Greg Chambers SDB will be the new provincial for the Province of Mary Help of Christians [Australia – Pacific] for the next six years.

Fr. Frank Moloney, the present provincial, also sends the happy news around the province and congratulates the incoming provincial for every success.

Fr. Greg Chambers currently hold the position of Vice-Provincial within the province. He also held the position of principalship at the Salesian College in Sunbury until the end of 2010. Consultation and voting for a new provincial was held around the province earlier in the year by Fr. Andy Wong, the superior of the Asia and Pacific region. It was quite obvious that Fr. Chambers had received a wide range of support and votes from all across the province.

Fr. Chambers will be officially installed as the new provincial on 16th December 2011 at the Province Centre at Ascot Vale. His term as the provincial begins on 1st January for the next six years.

On behalf of all SNAP readers, we congratulate Fr. Chambers and pray that the good Lord will bless him in this very important role.
