Holy Week is upon us again. Catholics and many Christians celebrate the passion, death and resurrection of the Lord in this Holy Week.
The Last Supper of the Lord is celebrated on Holy Thursday where Jesus asked his followers to break the bread and share the wine in memory of him. He also taught us in this meal to wash each other’s feet as a sign of our service to our neighbours. To be a follower of Jesus is to be of service to their neighbours.
The passion and death of our Lord is remembered and celebrated on Good Friday. This is the day when the Lord gave his life on the cross for the forgiveness of our sins. This is the day the sinful humanity is reconciled with the forgiving God.
The Resurrection of the Lord is celebrated as vigil on the night of Holy Saturday, or in the morning on Easter Sunday. Jesus offers us a new life in him through his rising from the dead.
The Catholic Church invites all the faithful in this time of the year to receive the sacrament of Reconciliation and the Holy Communion.
It is a time to come and reconcile with the Lord and to get strengthened by his Body and Blood.
May you all be graced by the passion, death and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ.
