On Friday evening, 29th April, the Nagle College Leadership team, Fr Joe, Br Noel and the principal attended the Sale Diocese Catholic Leaders Mass and Dinner in Traralgon. It was a great evening with both gatherings bringing together like?minded people celebrating Catholic Education.
Mass was celebrated by Bishop Christopher Prowse and a number of priests from around the Diocese. Bishop Christopher thanked all staff for their commitment to Catholic Education and reminded those in attendance of the privilege it is to work in Catholic Schools. He spoke of his pride for the wonderful schools in the Gippsland Diocese saying that we too should be proud of what we stand for, encouraging us to continue to provide Catholic leadership, a leadership of service for the students in our region. He emphasised that Catholic schools have to be different and remain true to our mission of centralising Jesus as the heart of everything we do in Catholic Education. He thanked all involved for providing the fantastic education we do, for the work we do and for the spirit we bring to our schools.
After Mass we adjourned to Lavalla College for dinner where we celebrated the opening of Catholic Education Week as well as recognising some wonderful achievements in Catholic Education over the last year. It was a proud moment for Nagle College with Fr Joe Pulis being recognised with an award for his ongoing work and commitment to Catholic Education and the spiritual formation of all in the community. It was a wonderful evening with the leaders of Catholic Education in the Sale Diocese enjoying each other’s company whilst sharing our schools’ unique stories and the wonderful success of Catholic Education.
