Cagliero Project congratulates Fr Roel Soto

Fr Roel Soto has been a great supporter of the Cagliero Project and has continued to welcome Cagliero volunteers into the community at the Don Bosco Technical School in Phnom Penh. Recently the Thai/Cambodia province has made Cambodia a delegation. The fantastic news is that Fr Roel has been elected Cambodia's first Salesian Delegate and was appointed by the Rector Major with the consent of his Council.

Fr Roel Soto hails from the Philippines and has been in Cambodia since 2009. The Delegation of Cambodia has 6 presences spread over five territorial provinces in Cambodia. In Phnom Penh there is a technical school, parish, youth centre and boarding houses. Tuol Kork is home to Don Bosco Children Fund's National Secretariat and Don Bosco Kiosk Restaurant Training Centre. In Sihanoukville there is a technical school, youth centre, pre-aspirantate and hotel school. Kep houses the Social communication centre and youth camp. Poipet has a children’s home , elementary school and technical school and in Battambang there is the academic school and agro-vocational school.

We would like to congratulate Fr Roel on being elected into this position and we look forward to continuing our strong relationship with the Salesians in Cambodia.
