Myanmar Salesian Mission Day

The ‘Salesian Mission Day’ for the year 2014 was held on 15th November with a three hour programme from 9.00 to 12.00 in Anisakan, Myanmar. The three FMA communities (Pyin Oo Lwin, Anisakan, and Mandalay) and the three SDB communities (Pyin Oo Lwin, Nazareth Anisakan, and Novitiate) joined in the celebration. Forty Salesians and ten Daughters of Mary Help Of Christians were present. In addition, there were about 70 young people, some Past Pupils and Friends (‘cooperators’).

The Programme mainly consisted of Holy Mass, Animation sessions in the form of Talks and Interviews with both SDB and FMA missionaries, and a friendly lunch together. The opportunity also presented itself to do the presentation of the Strenna 2015.

The Mission Day was mainly animated by Fr. Francis Dass, the provincial delegate for the Salesian Family. He said, “We were able to pray in a special way for the Salesian missions and missionaries, boost up the missionary spirit with the ‘Da mihi animas’ in us, and to remind ourselves that our Salesian Family is a Missionary Family.”

Same here my friend, may be you know me because I too was in Lafon Memorial school, Mandalay. I left about 1960 sadly, and then every thing went out of the window. Like wise I lost in touch with Father Jiacomin who is now in Heaven. Look up Myanma Salesian community, I have just done that. Samuel Beaver

Those people that in agony will be saved by God. Kindly would like to say for Salesian missionaries that no one can be said without seeing the fact that it’s already done. Only Jesus Christ can make miracle for Fr. Thomas release. Therefore, go on praying to our Most Heavenly Father, though Jesus Christ and he will be save. We need to have patients for years, months and days.

May Almighty God, His Son Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit, may take care of Fr. Thomas that missing in Yemen.
