New Province Website launched in Melbourne

The solemnity of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary, 8th December, has been an important day in the life of St John Bosco and the Salesians all around the world. Don Bosco started the Salesian Family around this date. He met young Bartholomew Garelli on this day, beginning the work of Salesian Congregation through a simple catechetical lesson.

On this special day in the year of the Bicentenary of the Birth of St John Bosco, the Province of Mary Help of Christians [Australia-Pacific] launched its new look website:

This site is the fruit of the Social Communications team that has been working in the last twelve months. The texts on the site are edited and put together by Karen Child, Lauren Hichaaba, Michael Gartland and Fr. Marc Barry. A lot of credits go Ashley Trethowan who designed the site in his busy schedule. Ashley is also responsible for designing a few other websites in the province. The Delegate of Social Communications, Fr Will Matthews, oversees the technical aspects of the site, and the editorship.

On this new site, the provincial Fr Greg Chambers says in his welcome message:

May it assist you in discovering anew the people and places, activities and events, and plans and dreams of our youthful and dynamic Salesian Province of Australia-Pacific.

May it also provide you with a gateway into the heart and mind of St John Bosco, whose birth bicentenary we have celebrated in true Salesian style, and a portal into the person and teachings of Jesus Christ who is the same, yesterday, today and tomorrow.

Any comments and feedbacks regarding this new site are welcome by Fr Will Matthews.
