Consultation for New Provincial

Fr. Andy Wong SDBThe regional superior of the East Asia and Oceania region, Fr. Andy Wong SDB, is currently visiting and meeting with every Salesian in Australia, Samoa, Fiji and New Zealand.

The purpose of his meetings is to elect a new provincial for the Province of Mary Help of Christians [Australia-Pacific] for the period of 2012-2017.


Fr. Frank Moloney SDB is currently the provincial and his term will come to an end on 31st December 2011 after serving to the province for six years.

A Salesian must be a priest and perpetually professed for at least ten years to be elected as a provincial. At this stage, Fr. Martin Tanti is the youngest priest who can be elected as provincial while Fr. Dan O’Sullivan the oldest.
