OzBosco was a weekend of fun, friends, food, prayers, talks, workshops and discussions in a true spirit of Don Bosco. It was held at St. Josephs College in Ferntree Gully and Don Bosco Camp at Safety Beach between 14-16 October. About 200 youth from Tasmania, NSW, Victoria and South Australia participated in the event.
Prayers, reflections, Masses, workshops, discussions, talks, and meals are included in OzBosco. A major highlight of the weekend was the bush dance on Saturday night where all participants were invited to dress in country outfit to join in the dance. It was a very happy night to remember.
Major themes shared during OzBosco was making a difference in life, the importance of friends, staying connected, faith and life, and the universality of joyful Salesian spirit.
On Sunday morning, two of Salesian World Youth Day pilgrims to Italy and Spain, Romina and Michael, shared passionately about their WYD experience to the whole group particularly highlighting the Salesian Day held in Madrid during WYD.
OzBosco was concluded on Sunday afternoon with a joyful Eucharist at St. Joseph’s College chapel. It was concelebrated by the provincial of the Salesians, Fr. Frank Moloney SDB, and a number of Salesian priests from Melbourne, Sydney, Adelaide and Hobart.
