Parish Feast and Perpetual Profession

The parish of the Our Lady of the Southern Cross, Clifton Hill & Collingwood, celebrated their annual feast day on Sunday 21st May with a solemn Mass at 10:30 AM. The Mass was presided over by the provincial, Fr Greg Chambers SDB, and the vice provincial from Thai Province, Fr Aaron Alcoseba SDB. Many Salesian priests also con-celebrated with the parish priest, Fr Peter Hoang SDB, on this special occasion.

During the Eucharist, a young brother from Thailand, Br Thomas Nattawut Kitsawad SDB, fondly known as Br. Por, professed as a Salesian forever. Fr Aaron accepted the Perpetual Vows of Br Por on behalf of the Rector Major.

The Eucharist was enriched with singings by English, Samoan and Vietnamese choirs. The Prayers of the Faithfuls were also prayed in different languages.

After the communion, Fr Peter Hoang thanked all those prepared and participated in the Eucharist. Br Por also expressed his gratitude towards the provincial of Australia, his mother province in Thailand and all those who supported him along his Salesian vocation.

There was a galore of multicultural food after the Eucharist with some games and singing to entertain all participants.
