Rupertswood Hall of Fame

Salesian College Rupertswood’s Presentation Day 2013 was celebrated in a special way on Friday 29th November at the Lakeside stadium in the college property. This time a number of former students and staff were invited to be recognized for their contributions to the college.

Probably the first time in the history of the college, two past Salesian priests, and some old staff and students were inducted into the new College Hall of Fame. Fr Manassero and Fr Maiocco, William Naughton, Jessie and Joe Colliton, Angela Killingsworth, Michael Walsh and Johnny Famechon were the inaugural inductees in this memorable and happy celebration. Family and friends of most inductees were present at the ceremony. Angela Killingsworth and Johnny Famechon accepted the honour in person during the ceremony, and able to say a few words of their time at Rupertswood.

Many parents also attended the ceremony with their children. There were some drama performances, singing and fashion show by the current students of the college.

Following the ceremony, morning tea was served in the ballroom, the former chapel, to all families and friends of the inductees and the award winning students.

On following Saturday, the college also opened its door to former staff and students. About 25 past students and staff from all over Australia visited the college. They enjoyed catching up with one another, and tours taken by the principal, the rector, Chris Ryan and Lisa Cole the coordinator of the event.
