On Friday, 13th May, Tegan and Luke from Xavier College in Gawler travelled together with Mr Watson to St. Mark’s College in Port Pirie to join in with their celebrations around their annual Feast Day for St. John Bosco.
When they arrived at St. Mark’s, they were met by their College Captains Jess and Jacob, who took them on a tour along with the Australian Salesian Principals who had travelled to Pt. Pirie for a meeting after being at Xavier on Thursday.
The day involved joining in with a full College Mass, con?celebrated by Bishop Greg O’Kelly of Port Pirie and Fr. Chris Ford, Principal Salesian College, Chadstone.
After a shared lunch, they then moved over to the Junior?school – Benedict campus, where they joined in with the Receptions in some fun activities.
During the day captains discussed the details involving the inaugural Dennis Handley Cup. It is hoped that this sporting competition will go to strengthening the Salesian bond between the two schools.
They hope that it will become a tradition within both schools.
Both sets of College Captains look forward to this momentous day and thoroughly enjoyed our experience at St Marks.
