The Vice Provincial Fr Bernie Graham SDB led a few important celebrations held at Don Bosco Formation House in Suva, Fiji in the past few days.
During the vigil Evening Prayer of St. John Bosco, Br. Falefa and Br. Lui renewed their Vows before Fr Bernie to God in a simple but lovely ceremony, followed by a celebratory meal with the members of Suva Salesian community.
On 31st January, during the Mass of the Feast of St. John Bosco the five novices, four Samoan and one Vietnamese Brothers, made their first profession as Salesians. Fr. Jim Hoe the Novice Master and Fr. Paselio the Rector had prepared the novices well and the ceremony was memorable in every respect.
There was torrential rain through much of the time of the ceremony and throughout the day, but it didn’t dampen the spirits among the Salesians in Fiji.
A large number of people, particularly the young religious of the other congregations were present at this First Profession celebrations.
On 1st February, two new Novices from Samoa begin their novitiate at Don Bosco House in Fiji.
