Salesians celebrate in Burma

Salesian Jubilarians

Salesian JubilariansPerpetually professed Salesians in the vice province of Myanmar had their Annual Spiritual Retreat at their Spiritual Renewal Centre, in Anisakan in the last week of September. This retreat was preached by Fr. Mariano Soe Naing who recently came back from Rome after completing his studies in biblical theology.

According to a participant, the retreat was preached-well and received-well. It was concluded with Fr. Maurice Vallance, Provincial’s birthday, on 2nd October.

Following the retreat was the celebration of four jubilarians: Fr Cyril Francis, Fr. Basil Latt, Fr. Francis Dass and Fr. Gabriel Myint Aung.

On the very day itself, after the solemn Jubilee celebrations, the Salesians had a general assembly to discuss some important issues of the province. This assembly took place from 1st to 2nd October, at St. Joseph Novitiate, in Anisakan.

The order of the discussions was in Commissions: Finance, Youth, Formation, Salesian Family, Mission and Social Communications.

All confreres took part actively and responsibly. The atmosphere of the assembly was very fraternal and mature.

Towards the conclusion of the Assembly, and in joyful Salesian spirit, many hymns to Don Bosco were sung spontaneously one after another by the confreres.

A celebratory dinner was shared by all confreres, some singing and dancing during the meal, in the evening of 2nd October to conclude the Salesian general assembly of the vice-province of Myanmar.
