Salesians in Australia always celebrate the feast of Mary Help of Christians on May 24th in a special way.
Mary Help of Christians is the patroness of the Salesians all around the world. At the same time, she is also the patroness of Australia.
Every Salesian in Australia has every reason to celebrate the feast of Mary Help of Christians in any way they can. This year May 24th falls on a Saturday, a day dedicated to the Mother of Christ.
Most Salesians in Australia would have celebrated Eucharist in honour of Mary Help of Christians in their own community last Saturday.
Yet, a number of Salesian Sisters, Brothers and Priests gathered at the Salesian Sisters’ convent in Broadmeadows, Victoria for a short prayer service to Mary, and a festive lunch on 24th May. A group of young people, collaborators and friends of Salesians also came along to this celebration. It was a day to celebrate the feast of Our Lady as well as catching up with one another in a happy social environment.
During lunch, Sr. Carmel’s birthday was also celebrated.
Mary Help of Christians, pray for us!
