Salesians remembered the Benefactors

The Salesian community in Sunbury celebrated the commemoration of the deceased benefactors of the Salesian Society on Thursday 5th November during their community Eucharist. This day, 5th November, is generally reserved to pray for those who contributed in the missions of the Salesians of Don Bosco.

Fr Marc Barry, a member of the Sunbury community, and convener of the Benefactors Project in the Province, led the liturgy during which a number of benefactors, past and present, were remembered and prayed for. The dinner conversation was also focused on the benefactors from the various parts of the province.

Fr Marc has planned to go around the province, visiting communities, to promote the Benefactors Project and to pray for those who are working with the Salesians as well as remembering those who have gone to eternal life.

The Australian-Pacific province has been blessed with numerous lay collaborators in its mission. Presently, most of the works are run in lay leadership while Salesians take on pastoral role.
