Salesian Recollection Day in SA

Fr. Domingos and Fr. David with Fr. Michael Keogh

Fr. Domingos and Fr. David with Fr. Michael KeoghThe Salesians in South Australia gathered for a day of recollection at the Monastery in Glen Osmond, near Adelaide on 13th June, the Queen’s Birthday holiday. Similar to last year, the day begins with a well-prepared and reflected input from Fr. Germano Baiguini on the theme of Strenna 2011.

The time after lunch is set aside for soaking in the input received in the morning, and to reflect on our mission and vocation.

Recollection day concludes with Evening Prayer and Mass later in the afternoon.

A high light of the day is the birthday celebration of Fr. Domingos from East Timor who is currently attending a professional development program in education with a fellow Salesian, Fr. David.

Both young priests are sponsored by the AusAID together with the ASMOAF. Fr. Domingos and Fr. David have been staying at Brooklyn Park community since 24th June, and will be in Adelaide until mid-July.

The Salesian community in Adelaide is also blessed with the visit of the ASMOAF director, Br. Michael Lynch SDB, who is visiting the region, catching up with the Timorese priests, and the ASMOAF supporters.
