Student Leaders conversed with Melbourne’s Archbishop

The annual Conversation with the Archbishop with Student Leaders was held at St. Bernard’s College in Essendon, a suburb of Melbourne, on Friday 11th March. Student leaders from three Melbourne Salesian colleges [St. Joseph’s Ferntree Gully, Salesian Chadstone and Salesian Sunbury] participated with their teachers in this conference.

Archbishop Denis Hart presented the main speech on the mercy of God in his life, in various roles as the first session. This year, one of the young presenters is Br. Jeff Miller, a young Salesian in formation from Don Bosco House in Clifton Hill. Br Jeff spoke about his personal experience of God’s mercy in his life.

Group discussions were held during the day where students had a chance to talk to one another, and express their opinion on how they can pass on God’s mercy in their leadership roles. These discussions were led by some seminarians from Corpus Christi College, and a few youth from the NET team.

The Q&A session was held in the afternoon during which Archbishop Hart openly and sincerely answering many questions from the students.

The day was concluded with the mercy prayer and a blessing from Archbishop Hart about 2:30 PM.
