The Pilgrimage of Don Bosco in the Province

Don Bosco Statue

Don Bosco StatueOn Thursday 19th August, Fr Pierluigi Zuffetti and Sig. Roberto Bertoli visited the Province Centre to meet with the organising committee for the presence of the beautiful statue containing the actual hand and arm of Don Bosco in our Province from 8-24 March 2011. Further information will be provided as plans take more shape, but the international organisation is impressive.

The statue-relic will arrive in Melbourne, from East Timor, on 8th March. At this stage, Victorian celebrations are planned for Chadstone, Oakleigh and Clayton Parishes, Ferntree Gully, Sunbury and North Brunswick. Also scheduled is a visit to St Marys in New South Wales. The statue-relic will leave Australia from Sydney.

As well as the presence of the statue-relic, part of the pilgrimage are some valuable mementos of the 150 years of the Congregation, the 200thanniversary of Don Bosco’s birth, and a symbolic statement of our mission, the continuation of Don Bosco’s presence in this part of the world.
