Relic Statue of Don BoscoThe Relic Statue of Don Bosco will be arriving St. Margaret Mary’s parish in North Brunswick on this Friday afternoon for a weekend load of celebrations.

The first celebration on Friday evening is reserved for Salesian brothers, sisters and priests at 5:00 pm with a talk from the provincial, Fr. Frank Moloney SDB. It is then followed by a family dinner together. Sr. Margaret Bentley FMA, provincial of the Salesian sisters in Australia and Pacific, will give a presentation on ‘The mission of the Salesians and Salesian Sisters today’ following the dinner. The evening will conclude with a prayer service and sharing around the relic statue of Don Bosco.

Saturday, 19th March, is set aside for youth celebrations with the Relic. Catechesis, talks, sharing, food and drinks are prepared for the whole day.  Many youth have been invited. This youth day will conclude with a candlelight vigil prayer service around the Relic Statue, followed by a concert and fireworks.

The parishioners of North Brunswick community and any devotees of Don Bosco will have the pleasure of the Relic Statue on Sunday, 20th March. Eucharist will be celebrated in English, Italian and Vietnamese at different times in the morning.

Sunday afternoon is set aside for private devotion. There will be a procession with the Relic Statue of Don Bosco at 4:15 pm. An outdoor Mass is organized at 5:00pm to mark the conclusion of the presence of the Relic at North Brunswick. Bishop Tim Costelloe SDB DD will be the main celebrant of this Mass.
