Special congratulations to all of our jubilarians!
At the conclusion of Provincial Chapter 21, a large number of Salesians from Australia, Samoa, Fiji and New Zealand gathered at the Catholic Leadership Centre for Province Day celebrations on Friday 24th May; the solemnity of Mary Help of Christians.
Eucharist was presided over by Provincial Fr Will Matthews at 5:30 pm. The following jubilarians were able to be present at the Eucharist and joined in for dinner afterwards.
- Br Silvio Quaranta: 70 years of religious profession
- Fr James Adayadiel: 65 years of religious profession
- Fr Greg Chambers: 50 years of religious profession
- Fr John Prest: 50 years of religious profession
- Br Stan Rossato: 50 years of religious profession
- Fr Peter Rankin: 40 years of religious profession
- Fr Nick Castelyns: 50 years of priestly ordination
- Fr Jim Acreman 40:years of priestly ordination
- Fr Peter Monaghan: 40 years of priestly ordination
- Fr Mosese Tui: 25 years of priestly ordination
Due to health and distance reasons, Fr Lionel Henry (65 years of religious profession), Fr Bert Fulbrook (60 years of religious profession), Fr Stephen Dubovsky (60 years of priestly ordination) and Fr Joseph Lee (25 years of priestly ordination) were unable to participate in the celebrations.
During what was an especially festive and joyful dinner, Fr Peter Hoang proposed a toast to all jubilarians for their life and commitment to the Salesian Congregation and to the Church. In response, Fr Mosese Tui thanked Fr Peter Hoang and all members of the province for their love and support.
The dinner came to conclusion with 50th Birthday celebration of Fr Martin Tanti who arrived into the world on the feast of Mary Help of Christians in 1969. Many happy returns, Martin!
