Every now and then, the Provincial Council meets in a different Salesian community setting. This provides opportunity for the Councillors to gain a more personal appreciation of the house and the ministries that go on there, as well as enabling the “locals” to interact with the council on their own turf.



The end of an era as Br Joseph leaves Don Bosco Brunswick

On Monday 17th of June. Br Joseph Vu left Don Bosco Youth Centre and Hostel for a well-earned month long holiday in his homeland of Vietnam. Although he will return for a little while when he gets back, he will be based in Clifton Hill for further studies.



Two new Cagliero volunteers are about to embark on their overseas journies

Volunteers are the beating heart of the Cagliero Project. We are forever blown away by the generosity of young people, and young at heart, to give so much of their time for a volunteer experience with the Salesians in overseas communities.

Fiji, a nation of about 330 islands, has always experienced the movement of people to the capital city, Suva, in search of work and in hope of better living conditions. As it tends to be the way, this has served to increase an already high level of youth unemployment, but also increased social problems as increasing numbers of young people are lured into drugs and crime.



Updates on the communites of Massey and Avondale

On 15 April, Fr James Adayadiel celebrated his 65 years of Salesian life with his community in New Zealand. Fr James joined the province in 1979 and has since held positions of responsibility as well as being Chancellor of the Archdiocese of Apia.
